What are Extended Services?
Extended Services are about meeting the needs of the ‘whole’ person by providing a range of services and activities often beyond the school day to help meet the needs of children, their families and the wider community. It is also about meeting the Every Child Matters agenda.

What is the Every Child Matters Agenda?
The programme places better outcomes for children firmly at the centre of all policies and approaches involving children's services. These outcomes are:
  • Be healthy
  • Stay safe
  • Enjoy and achieve
  • Make a positive contribution
  • Achieve economic well-being
The programme demands that all organisations that provide services to children, work together in more integrated and effective ways.

What will the School be doing to meet these agendas?
 
Here at Danum we have been working to these agendas for the last few years and although this is an ongoing and never ending process, we feel we are already working to the majority of the themes.
 
There will be a need for constant consultation, auditing, monitoring, evaluation and development of the services we provide in line with changing identified needs. That is where you will come in!
