Girls’ football Festival
On Tuesday 24th April, Danum Academy hosted a Girls Football Festival Roadshow in conjunction with the FA. The event saw over 170 girls from Danums feeder primaries and surrounding secondary schools participate in a range of football activities such as skills and drills sessions, 5 a side matches inside an inflatable pitch, interactive games (speed cage & batak board), with prizes and goodies for all.
Ambassadors from Doncaster Rovers Belles came and supported the event including England International Sue Smith, Irish Internationals Aine O'Gorman and Julie-Ann Russell and Canadians Alyssa Lagonia and Tania Pedron. Doncaster Rovers Belles interacted with the girls and a Q & A session was held to give the pupils an insight into the life of a professional female footballer. Participants had the chance to pose with the FA W.S.L (Womens Super League) trophy as well as the chance to have their photographs taken with players and autographs.
